Governmental Relations Committee

The Governmental Relations Committee consists of a Chairperson, appointed by the President and any interested graduate student.

As needed, the chair consults with University Relations and members who serve on Campus Partners, the University Area Commission and the University District Organization.

The GRC is responsible for representing graduate student legislative concerns at the University, State, and Federal level.

For 2007-2008 the GRC is hereby charged with the following:

  • Facilitate the timely selection & appointment of the aforementioned committee members.
  • Relationship maintenance and management with other Student Governments and University Governmental Relations.
  • Coordination of two Legislative Action Initiatives - one at the state level and one with the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students.
  • Initiate a letter writing campaign aimed at stopping the addition of fees that are not included in the general fee at Ohio State.
