Brian N. Gay

City and Regional Planning - 1st Year

Brian is currently serving as the Government Relations Chair for the Council. He speaks highly of his committee and believes that CGS and Ohio State's graduate students can be more vocal and instrumental with respect to state and federal issues pertaining to graduate students. Brian is currently working with Bowling Green State University's graduate students to help reconstitute the Ohio Graduate Council, an organization devoted to advocating for all of Ohio's graduate students. Brian is a two-time graduate of Morehead State University, where he earned a B.A. in Sociology and a Masters in Public Administration. Katie Gonzalez

Master’s of Social Work – 1st Year, MSW Student

Katie Gonzalez of Fulton County, Ohio is currently pursuing her degree with a Graduate School Fellowship. Arriving at OSU as a Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship recipient and with help from several other scholarships, Katie was able to achieve great heights, earning a B.A. in Psychology with 3.75 GPA. As a graduate student at OSU, Katie is engaged in many outstanding service programs and friends call her a “true humanitarian”. She is currently interning at a local hospital as a Substance Abuse Coordinator Intern and during her spare time she is active with the non-profit Unplugging Society, where she serves as Community Outreach Coordinator. In her time at OSU as an undergraduate and graduate student, she has helped numerous students in a number of ways from being a great mentor and friend to others to volunteering her time as an advocate for victims of sexual assault. Despite having to work several jobs during her time at OSU, Katie Gonzales has always been able to excel in the classroom and field, while making time for others. Education for citizenship and doing what is right, when nobody is paying attention... that is what Katie is all about.

Annie M. Price

Ph.D. Student, Sociology

Annie M. Price, of St. Augustine, Florida, is a 5th year Ph.D. student in sociology. After completing a bachelor's degree in sociology and English literature in the Honors Program at Florida State University, she chose to attend Ohio State because of the stellar quality of its sociology program. Her current projects include a study of an anti-sexual harassment campaign in Egypt and developing an expanded index of rentier status in Middle Eastern countries. In addition to work as a T.A. and Graduate Research Assistant, she has been active in the Sociology Graduate Student Association since 2006, serving as Vice President from 2008 to 2009. She is currently serving as a Graduate Student Representative for her department's Faculty Recruitment Committee. Annie currently has 2 publications and 5 papers under review or in progress.
