Council of Graduate Students

at The Ohio State University

Chief of Staff

Michelle is pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) in the College of Education and Human Ecology. Born in India and raised in New Jersey, she completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Public Health at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and her master's degree at Indiana University in HESA. Michelle worked in several areas - leadership development, student engagement, new student orientation, academic advising, and residence life. Michelle's passions and research interests are focused in a few different areas: student leadership development, HESA graduate preparation programs, and attrition of student affairs professionals, especially those who hold marginalized identities.  When she's not studying, thinking about, or working with HESA, she can be found, cooking, baking, crafting, reading, and exploring the Columbus food and coffee scene! Michelle has been a delegate for Educational Studies and on the Graduate Student Affairs Committee for the last two years, this past year she also served on the Senate Library Committee.
